My brother and his girlfriend stayed the night last night and got some great bonding time in with Zeus, and today we had lots of stuff to accomplish. Today happened to be Clyde’s 3rd round of immunizations, and I was able to get an appointment for Zeus as well, which was perfect timing. They were able to get his first exam and make sure he was all healthy, plus get all of their questions answered. Both boys did very well and got tons of attention from everyone at the office.
Taking any advantage that I can to create a hand bound book, I made my brother and his girlfriend a dog themed book to help keep track of all of their new puppy madness (or if their dog stays the way he is, puppy calmness).
The books was also a great excuse to try out my brand new lined paper, which I am so excited about! It has been something I have wanted to try out for a while now, but could never figure out the best solution. The issue is that I create signatures in all of my books, and sew those together. Basically this means the paper gets folded. With standard lined paper, to get the lines going the right way, I need to fold in half on the short side making the books so tiny that they are unreasonable. Then to top it off, standard lined paper has the margin lines, which when folded on half creates a really strange break in space. The final “its not going to work” cherry on top is that the lines are a bit too far apart for how small my books are, having limited lines per page. It was all of this that I decided I should “design” my own lined paper. I wanted to go with a gray line, and space them a bit closer together, and printed it landscape allowing me to make my same sized books as normal.
This is something people have been requesting recently, and I am very excited to finally start having this new option!
