Ok, so as a continuation of yesterdays project…
The entire goal of yesterday was to create a press to help with a new bookbinding style I wanted to do. I wanted to start creating moleskin type notebooks. I had done perfect binding before, which is basically a bunch of individual sheets glued together at the spine with a cover attached that reaches all around. I used to take two of my cutting pads, and clamp them together to a table to hold the book while the glue dried. This worked, but was a pain to get set up, so I really liked this permanent solution.
Here is the final press, it is a super simple design, 2 pieces of wood, 4 bolts and some wing nuts. Once I borrowed a high powered drill it went really quickly.

And, here is my first book, I have a few more kinks to work out, but I think it will be a nice addition to my shop.
